Artist:Sabina Maria
Sabina Maria Grzyb, born in 1988, is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in March 2017. In painting, she focuses mainly on composition and static rock forms. She weaves real motifs and experiences into oneiric spaces. She balances on the borders of abstraction, fantasy and realism, while maintaining her own distinctive and peculiar form. She is a nostalgic landscape painter of non-existent spaces, an artist with great sensitivity to color, operating solids in a monumental way, who creates her own worlds of undeniable beauty. In her painting, full of understatements and suggestions for the viewer to ponder, Sabina Maria Grzyb uses various motifs to depict her thoughts, feelings and doubts. The painting is filled with metaphors and meanings, as well as certain melancholy - it refers to human existence. Sabina Maria can be called the creator of oneiric fantasy landscapes. In her art, there is an important connection with nature, imagination, dreams, but also a distance from herself - self-irony, a way of expressing herself, based on the intended inconsistency appearing through the titles of works, including "Romeo and Żulia", "Fortune", "Moods". These are works not devoid of an element of playfulness, which is a value. As Jerzy Nowosielski used to say, "art fails serious people, they spoil any fun". Sabina Maria's painting compositions, usually made in acrylic and oil on canvas, are dominated by a maritime landscape with staffage or interpersonal relationships - a kind of reverie on the human condition. When applying the organizational discipline of the picture plane, limited to a few elements, there is a decisive and sensual treatment of the painting matter. Art is a value, and bwing as complex as human nature, it allows us to constantly see new emerging possibilities. Sabina Maria is a searching person. With the delight of landscape and people, new artistic solutions appear on the horizon of imagination - and evolve towards abstract solutions of the "pure landscape".
